George Takei presents us with an interesting poll:
I love this man more than words can explain, and this is just one of the many reasons why.
He isn’t afraid to stand up for people who don’t have a voice and he’s got intelligent ways of doing so.
“After an incident of really bad gay sex”
Brilliant. “Straights should be allowed to marry anyway”
US NAVY WOMEN HAVE FIRST KISS
Two female US sailors have become the first same-sex couple to share the traditional dockside “first kiss” since the US ended a ban on gays in the army.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta, who had been at sea for 80 days, won the right to be the first person to kiss her partner on shore in a raffle.
The couple said the moment had been “a long time coming”. The US Army’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy was lifted in September, after years of debate. [src]
Sia’s ‘love interest’, JD Samson was interviewed by Seattle Times Newspaper,
Samson, 32, a lesbian who proudly sports a mustache, was shocked by the level of attention her appearance drew onstage. She worried that people came to the shows just to make fun of her. “There were times when I felt so bad about myself and so scared to go out there,” she said. “And the more I thought to myself, ‘This is the coolest thing ever, I am creating visibility for people that don’t have it,’ that just pushed me to go forward.”

Homosexuality in the Bible.
A few months ago, in the heat of the tragic teen suicides that came about from intolerance of homosexuality, I saw a man on television who was apologizing for wishing death on gays from his facebook page. This member of an Arkansas school board was contrite for the violence in his words, but maintained that his values pertaining to homosexuality would remain, as he felt homosexuality was condemned in the bible. This concept, while foreign to me, is interesting, as it used to justify so much judgement and separation in our society. When my daughter came home from school one day saying that a classmate had two mommies, my response was, “Two mommies? How lucky is she?!” What does it actually say in the bible that will cause some people to be upset by my line of thinking?
How awesome is she!?! Respect, Gwyneth.
An interview with lesbian Stonewall veteran Stormé DeLarverie, “When you grew up like me, honey, you better be able to see all the way around you, because when the black kids weren’t chasing me, the white kids were chasing me, and if they weren’t, the dogs were chasing me, or the snakes were chasing me. Somebody was always chasing me - until I stopped running.”

Tabatha Coffey, “You know what, being gay is really like saying I have blue eyes, I have brown hair, I’m 5’6”. It’s a fact. It has been proven enough that it is something physiological that happens to us. I think when people don’t accept others because they are gay, it really does come down to like me saying, “I can’t accept you because you have blue eyes and I don’t like blue eyed people.” That’s just insanity to me”
“Do you know any gay people?” Sir Ian McKellen asks the class. Silence. Heads shake. “Well, you do now. I’m gay.” It’s my turn to speak up. “You know two now. I used to go to this school — and I’m gay,” I offer. “You know three now,” a sixth-former chips in. The other pupils don’t look too surprised, and he seems admirably comfortable in his sexuality. Silence. Then: “Erm. Well. You know four now.” Heads shoot around to see a uniformed boy, leaning close to Sir Ian. Mouths fall slightly open — including mine — but nobody speaks. Then Sir Ian says, in that mellifluous voice of his, “Well. How about that? It turns out we all know quite a few more gay people than we thought we did.”
That is one awesome coming out story for that kid.
Chely Wright, “We proposed to each other. Designed our rings together, too! I’m beyond lucky to get to share my life with Lauren.”
The pair will wed on August 20th 2011 in Connecticut.
…The country singer came out exactly a year ago in People Magazine. “I don’t have a memory in my life that doesn’t include the dream of making music, [but] … there had never, ever been a country music artist who had acknowledged his or her homosexuality … I hid everything for my music.”

WHAT THE FRIGGIN’ NORA?
A spin-off of the web phenomena that is "Lesbians who look like Justin Bieber", this blog is pretty much exactly the opposite...
So, this blog started off as a joke - it’s nothing against the Bieb, just simply that not every lesbian looks like him… In fact, what happened was the more we searched for new posts, the more we discovered that there’s a lot of encouraging, inspiring & sexy stuff out there!
We’re just sharing what we buzz off. Here we have a celebration of the time we live in. It’s a sneaky peek into open closets from the past and the present. It’s also become a place to share triumphs of our community, the highs and lows of our generation (mostly the highs) and just generally brilliant and important stuff relating to all things gay.
If you have any questions, please ask. If you have any suggestions, please make them known. If you have any revelations, please reveal. If you want to share, please open up. You are amazing and this is for you.
